Mr. Brian Neubert Spokesperson of the US Department of State of African Affairs said that Tunisia's participation in the US-Africa Business Forum is a message of Tunisia's commitment to undertake the necessary reforms in order to drain investment and reinforce its economic relations with the USA.

He added, in a statement to TAP on the sidelines of the US-Africa Business Forum, that his country grants great importance to Tunisia and even considered it as a priority partner as testified by the invitation of President Obama to his Tunisian counterpart to attend this meeting as a honorary guest.

As regards the US participation in the international conference on investment to be held in Tunisia on November 29 and 30, 2016, the US official confirmed the presence of his country in this event to promote the Tunisian-US cooperation.

In this regard, he explained that the New York forum is an opportunity for the African countries in general and Tunisia in particular to discuss with the US administration terms of creating new models of cooperation in finance and investment sector.

In the same context, he emphasized the important role of the private sector in boosting the economy worldwide.

The US official said that a round table on the Tunisian experience will be held early this evening (local time) and gathers President Beji Caid Essebsi, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde to discuss boosting investment and promoting employment of higher education graduates in particular.

The US-African Business Forum started earlier in the day with the participation of 35 heads of state and 200 US companies.
