Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning and City will build during the next five year (2015-2019) a total of 1.6 housing units of different types as part of the investment plan budgeted at DZD4500 billion, said the ministry. According to the report of 2010-2014 plan and the sector’s prospects by 2019, the expected budget for this programme will decrease if there is an easy access to land in the southern and high plateaux provinces.For the implementation of this project, the ministry took a series of measures particularly regarding the modernization of construction techniques, the settlement of pending disputes between the companies and project promoters as well as encouraging the Algerian companies especially small and medium companies for the acquisition of subcontracting projects.The number of housing units which are being constructed can reach 2 million housing units, including 650,000 as part of 2014 programme.A programme for the construction of 900,000 housing units was launched between 2010 and 2014. Concerning the completed projects, 693,000 housing units delivered as part of the five-year programme 2010-2014.
