Seven hundred and seventy-six new homes will be constructed in Taima, 265 km southeast of Tabuk, at a cost of SR400.48 million. Housing Minister Shuwaish Al-Dowaihi signed a contract with Saudi Arabian Trading & Construction Company (SATCO) to implement the project. "The project will cover an area of 641,300 square meters in Taima," the minister said. There will be two types of houses: one covering 500 square meters and the other 272 square meters. "Each house will have two floors and is designed to meet the requirements of Saudi families," Al-Dowaihi said. It will have four bedrooms, a sitting room, a dining hall, a living room, a kitchen, four toilets and a servant room. The project includes a community center providing religious, recreational and educational services. It also includes two schools, three mosques including a Jami mosque and four recreational centers. The minister hoped the project would realize the hopes and aspirations of citizens to have a decent house. At present the ministry carries out 46 housing projects in various parts of the country. He thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for his generous support to the ministry. Meanwhile, King Abdullah Charitable Housing Foundation has constructed 6,000 housing units in Jazan to accommodate displaced people. The houses will be allotted to deserving people on March 14. The massive project, located in five places, was carried out at a total cost of SR6 billion. Hasma is the largest among the five with 2,249 houses, 11 mosques, two health centers and 15 schools, followed by Rawan with 1,063 houses, six mosques, four schools and a health center, the official said.
