Credit Suisse has named Francesco de Ferrari as its new market area head for Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia in the Private Banking Division with effect from 1 August 2011. Credit Suisse said that de Ferrari will be based in Singapore and will report to Marcel Kreis, head of private banking for Asia Pacific. de Ferrari is currently managing director and CEO of Credit Suisse Private Banking Italy. In this new strategic senior leadership role, de Ferrari will be responsible to further develop Credit Suisse's wealth management business in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, driving client interconnectivity and advancing market share. de Ferrari joined Credit Suisse in 2002. Before heading up private banking in Italy, he held several roles in the Private Banking Division including COO for Private Banking Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region in Zurich and country COO for Italy. He started his professional career in 1990 and has worked in a number of blue chip companies such as Deloitte & Touche, Nestle and McKinsey. Before joining Credit Suisse, he founded and led two different entrepreneurial ventures in the retail distribution and internet fields. Kreis said Francesco's diverse professional experience and in-depth knowledge of the firm's Private Banking business, as well as his proven management capabilities and strategic skills make him an excellent choice for this new senior leadership role.
