Prosecutors on Monday began a probe into possible military procurement corruption involving a faulty Navy salvage ship that failed to participate in the national rescue operation for the ferry Sewol that sank off the southwest coast in April.
Seoul Central Prosecutors' Office said its investigators searched the office of the Korean partner of an American company that supplied a sonar system for the ship and homes of relevant people to obtain documents and computer files related to the supply contract.
