Jordan's National Day of May 25 got an extended boost with DHL's very own Jordan event replete with corporate and regional pride. Local crooner Diana Karazon came in a bumper package edition from express deliverers, served up for an exclusive audience in Jordan's capital. Amman’s Four Seasons grand hotel was resplendent in yellow Sunday night in honor of 33 years in the Kingdom by DHL Express, the International Specialists in deliveries. The leading logistics company put the yellow and red of their branding into Jordan’s 66th national anniversary in an exclusive dinner to mark 33 years presence in Jordan. The backdrop to the DHL Celebration of Jordan's National Day Gala included a slideshow projecting scenes from the local DHL depot 33 year-history, in honor of the new Jordanian regional manager based in the Jordan branch backed by a full body of Jordanian staff. The event was graced by the royal attendance, of HRH Prince Faisal Bin Al-Hussein - an apt attendee for what was essentially the Hashemite Kingdom’s National Day celebration. Amman's high society and DHL's VIP guests were out in full force, dressed to the nines. The event gave 600 lucky guests more than just dinner in fine company, but a taste of local singer Diana Karazon (happily known as the Lady Gaga of the Middle East). Showcased Jordanian national pop treasure, super star-studded for the occasion, Karazon treated dining guests to a host of old covers speckled with her own hits. Pop lyrics were heavy with pining strains: “Oh what happened, I wish I could tell you what happened And wipe my tears with your hankerchief Because of what happened I wish you would come so I can tell you what happened." The diva's yellow bouffant matched the yellow orange tinge of the hall. The table settings -with their red and yellow rose centre-pieces, Hashemite district and town name labels, from Madaba and traditional Karak all the way to upmarket West Amman 'Abdoun', honored the dual celebration of DHL and Jordan. The evening was concluded with guests joining the glittering mini-celebrity for some local folk-dancing dabke with - thrilled to dance alongside their Arab Lady Gaga.
