Chris Brown's cross-country legal saga continues. U.S. Marshals have taken the singer into custody in Los Angeles to transport him to Washington, D.C., where he'll stand trial on misdemeanor assault charges. The 24-year-old singer faces charges stemming from an October incident, in which a 20-year-old Maryland man accused Brown of punching him in the face outside the W Hotel. Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, tried to block Marshals from taken custody of Brown, saying it would prevent the singer from preparing for his trial. A judge denied the request. Brown has been in jail in Los Angeles since he was kicked out of his Malibu rehabilitation facility last month. According to health officials at the facility, where Brown was in treatment for anger management, the singer "became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD."
