Scottish actor David Tennant is to star in a U.S. version of his British police drama "Broadchurch," the New York Post reported. The U.K. series about a small community torn apart by the murder of an 11-year-old boy recently aired on BBC America. The former "Doctor Who" star will adopt an American accent when he reprises his role of police detective Alex Hardy in the U.S. version of "Broadchurch," which is to premiere next year on Fox, the Post said. The role of Tennant's partner Ellie Miller, which was played by Olivia Colman in the British version, has not been announced yet, the newspaper said.
