Edie Falco paid a heartfelt tribute to her longtime friend and collaborator, the late James Gandolfini, at the Emmy Awards show in Los Angeles Sunday night. Falco played Carmela, the wife of Gandolfini's mob boss character Tony Soprano on "The Sopranos," for six seasons. Gandolfini died of a heart attack this past summer at the age of 51. Falco spoke of the actor's "depth and dimension," as well as his "tremendous warmth and heart, kindness and unique generosity." She remembered him as man who was uncomfortable in the spotlight and always eager to recognize people he felt were "more worthy." Falco went on to say he was someone who was fiercely loyal to those he cared about and the first to offer help should anyone need it. Describing Gandolfini as a talented artist and her "pretend life partner," Falco told the crowd, "It's Jim the man, the very dear man, I will miss most of all."
