Actress Ellen Page responded to a pastor's anti-gay remarks via Twitter on Saturday. 2 da Pastor who wrote me-Being gay isn't a belief. My soul isnt struggling& I don't want arms of Heavenly Father around me.A girls arms? Yes.— Ellen Page (@EllenPage) March 22, 2014 The 27-year-old star came out as gay last month at an LGBT conference in Las Vegas. "I am here today because I am gay... and because maybe I can make a difference," Page announced at the conference. "I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission." "I suffered for years because I was scared to be out," the actress continued during her speech. "My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered. And I'm standing here today, with all of you, on the other side of all that pain." The audience at the conference gave Page two standing ovations, and many Hollywood stars, including Julianne Moore, expressed their support and praised the actress for her honesty. Page did not elaborate further on the pastor's negative message, but fans showed their love with supportive comments on the tweet. The star's response has been favorited over 16,000 times. The actress will next appear as Shadowcat in X-Men: Days of Future Past, set to debut May 23.
