Oscar-winning actress Joan Fontaine died of natural causes Sunday at her home in Carmel, Calif., her assistant said. She was 96. Her film credits include "No More Ladies," "The Women," "Gunga Din," "Hold Back the Dawn," "Suspicion," "Rebecca," "The Constant Nymph," "Jane Eyre," "September Affair," "Ivanhoe" and "Island in the Sun." Born Joan de Beauvoir de Havilland in Tokyo to British parents, Fontaine was the younger sister of Olivia de Havilland, an actress with whom she had a bitter lifelong rivalry, the Hollywood Reporter said.
