New Delhi - Arabstoday

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey for Oprah's Next Chapter, which showed in the US on Sunday, Kim Kardashian said she was proud to represent Middle Eastern women in the US. When Winfrey asked the reality star if she thought her family's television show would have been successful if they had not been physically attractive, Kardashian replied: "I don't think it would have happened if we were all skinny pretty models. I think it has to do with us, the curves, the dark hair. I remember when the wave of Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek and these beautiful Hispanic women came into light, and I looked up to them, but I was like: 'Where are the Middle Eastern women?' I think we took that category and helped it broaden." * IANS Arsenio Hall returning to late-night TV Arsenio Hall is returning to TV's late-night scene, where he flourished with a talk show two decades ago. CBS says it is developing a syndicated nightly show with the 57-year-old comedian, set to premiere in autumn of 2013. Hall is best known for hosting the Emmy-winning Arsenio Hall Show, which ran from 1989 to 1994. Recently, he won the latest edition of NBC's Celebrity Apprentice. * AP Tony Bennett may do album with Gaga The musician Tony Bennett announced he's in talks to record a full album with Lady Gaga. "She's a very talented person," said Bennett, 85, a close friend of Gaga's parents. "I'd like to do that. I'm looking forward to it." The two recorded the song The Lady is a Tramp last September for Bennett's album Duets II. * IANS Power cut hits Bieber's show Justin Bieber had an unplugged performance at New York's Apollo Theatre on Monday, but it wasn't intentional - he was nearing the end of a show in front of a packed house when the power for most of the instruments suddenly went out. Bieber still managed to finish the show, with the help of fans singing along with him. "What it turned into was an Apollo moment," said Nina Flowers, a representative from the theatre. * AP Catherine Zeta-Jones to play Cleopatra Catherine Zeta-Jones is planning to return to Broadway as Cleopatra in a new rock'n'roll musical, a show she's developing with the filmmaker Steven Soderbergh. "Steven and I have an idea - actually it was for a movie - for me to play Cleopatra. But we think it would just be fantastic on Broadway," she said. The actress and director just finished shooting the psychological thriller The Bitter Pill, which co-stars Rooney Mara, Channing Tatum and Jude Law, and is currently showing off her vocal talents in the Hollywood adaptation of another Broadway show, Rock of Ages. * IANS From: The National
