The stars of "Kinky Boots" are to appear alongside the Broadway musical's composer, Cyndi Lauper, for her True Colors Cabaret benefit, producers said. The Dec. 16 event at Birdland in Manhattan is to raise money for the True Colors Fund, an organization Lauper co-founded to "raise awareness about and bring an end to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender youth homelessness, and to inspire everyone, especially straight people, to become active participants in the advancement of equality for all," a release said. "I am really excited that the True Colors Fund and my 'Kinky Boots' family will be resurrecting the True Colors Cabaret for this special one-night only show," Lauper said in a statement Thursday. "The message of 'Kinky Boots' and the work of the True Colors Fund is synonymous. 'You change the world when you change your mind.' Through a great night of music, we will continue our work to change those minds and ensure that gay and transgender homeless youth get the help that they deserve." Set to take the stage are Adinah Alexander, Annaleigh Ashford, Douglas Baldeo, Stephen Berger, Paul Canaan, Lena Hall, Jaden Jordan, Andy Kelso, Kevin Smith Kirkwood, Eric Leviton, Ellyn Marie Marsh, John Jeffrey Martin, Marcus Neville, Kyle Taylor Parker, Robert Pendilla, Jennifer Perry, Billy Porter, Kyle Post, Tory Ross, Stark Sands, Charlie Sutton, and Joey Taranto. "Kinky Boots" co-creators Harvey Fierstein and Jerry Mitchell, along with producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig, will also be on hand for the evening.
