Kristin Chenoweth will return to Broadway in February 2015 in an upcoming production of the 1978 musical comedy On the Twentieth Century. The Roundabout Theater Company announced Tuesday that the 45-year-old Tony-winner will play Hollywood diva Lily Garland on the show about a group of people who embark in a cross-country journey in a train. Peter Gallagher will co star as Chenoweth's former lover and bankrupt theater producer, Oscar Jaffee. Chenoweth is best known for creating the role of Glinda the Good Witch in Wicked. Her last Broadway production was Promises, Promises in 2010. Since then, Chenoweth has appeared in several television series and had recurring roles in shows like The West Wing, Pushing Daisies, and Glee as well as a starring role in ABC's GCB. On the Twentieth Century's revival will be directed by Scott Ellis and choreographed by Warren Carlyle. The original Broadway production of the show won Tony awards for best score, best book and best actor for John Cullum as Oscar. The 20-week revival will begin on Feb. 12 at the American Airlines Theater.
