Matt Lauer and Al Roker took the "Today" show cameras with them when they underwent prostate exams at a New York hospital. People.com said the television personalities had the rectal procedures behind closed doors with cameras rolling outside Thursday to raise awareness about the importance of regular checkups. "It doesn't hurt at all," said Lauer. "Is it the best 34 seconds of your life? Probably not. But if in 34 seconds a [doctor] can detect something that might save your life, what are we talking about?" Roker said the exam is "not comfortable," but added, "It's certainly, obviously doable." "I think a lot of guys are also concerned about the embarrassment factor of it, so my advice would be find a doctor you're very comfortable with," Lauer said. "That embarrassment factor is not going to be an issue." The doctor who conducted the exams said Lauer's prostate felt normal, however, Roker's was slightly enlarged, People.com said.
