More than 300 people attended the funeral for crime novelist Elmore Leonard Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church in Birmingham, Mich. The Rev. Joe Grimaldi delivered the homily for the novelist known to many as "Dutch," the Detroit Free Press reported. "Elmore truly was gifted with creativity, skill and talent," he said. "The twinkle in his eye showed he also enjoyed having fun." Leonard's son, Christopher Leonard, also spoke at the ceremony along with two of his brothers. "When I hug my brothers and sisters, I'll be hugging my father," he said. "When I see them, I'll see my dad." In attendance at the funeral were sportswriter Mike Lupica, a longtime friend of the author, and actor Timothy Olyphant, who stars in the television series "Justified," based upon one of Leonard's works. Leonard, 87, died Tuesday three weeks after suffering a stroke.
