Conrad Hilton the younger brother of heiress and television personality Paris Hilton surrendered to FBI officials in Los Angeles Tuesday after he was charged with assaulting and intimidating flight attendants on an LA bound flight from London last summer.
Hilton, 20, is said to have become erratic during a British Airways flight on July 31, 2014, where he began yelling insults like, "I will [expletive] fight you," "I am going to [expletive] kill you," and "I will [expletive] own anyone on this flight; they are [expletive] peasants" at flight attendants.
Hilton was described as "uncoordinated, delusional and paranoid" by the flight's co-pilot and reportedly fell asleep on his seat after the episode. Flight officials reportedly handcuffed him to the seat after the fact.
A criminal complaint states children aboard the aircraft began crying, passengers became frightened and drink service was delayed 40 minutes over Hilton's violent tantrum. A U.S. district court charged him with assault to the crew to the point where they were unable to perform their duties.
Hilton was due in court Tuesday and was released on a $100,000 unsecured bond after surrendering to authorities.
His attorney Robert Shapiro -- famous for representing O.J. Simpson -- said his client was under the effects of a sleeping pill during the flight, confirmed multiple statements from passengers who overhead him talking about the pill.
Hilton was ordered to appear for arraignment March 5 and continue mental health treatment.
