Fancy a dinner date with Singapore actress Joanne Peh? Guests who turned up for the An Intimate Evening With Pillow Talk special event on Thursday managed to sit down for a lavish six-course dinner with not only Peh, but with Pierre Png and the other cast members of Channel 8's "Pillow Talk" as well. Dishes like Wagyu beef with honey mustard sauce and succulent baked cod topped with garlic mousse were on the menu, but many of the attendees were too busy chatting with the stars who joined them at the table to pay much heed to the food. Some of them took the opportunity to get photos taken with their favourite stars, while others were content to just have intimate tête-à-têtes with them. The guests clearly enjoyed themselves, but so did the artistes. Png expressed that he loved getting the chance to meet the guests, many of whom have seen the show, as he could get direct, constructive feedback about "Pillow Talk". "I love it! Take away the lights, the celebrity [trappings], they (the guests) sit down here, have a good drink and interact with us. "I think it is a wonderful opportunity," said Png. Peh found the level of interactivity at the event refreshing. "It surprised me that everyone is so warm, so friendly and we had a really good time. "It's pretty much interacting and getting to know them, rather than say in a road show, which is more one way. You actually connect with the people who are watching your shows a lot more," Peh gushed. Thursday's dinner is the first event to be held as part of the new ME - MediaCorp Entertains - initiative by the broadcaster, which aims to extend the experience for consumers of MediaCorp productions beyond the media platforms. Other events are in the pipeline, such as the ELLE Women in Music charity concert next week and a live comedy spectacular involving the cast of "The Noose" and radio duo "The Muttons", in May. Information on these upcoming events will be made available over the MediaCorp Entertains web site and its dedicated mobile apps.
