The spot where Rolling Stones stars Mick Jagger and Keith Richards met in 1961 will be marked with a plaque, town officials in Dartford, England, said. The teenagers had both gone to Wentworth Primary School in the town, and recognized each other at a Dartford railway station platform on Oct. 17 ,1961, in Kent. A blue heritage plaque will mark that spot, the BBC said. "Fate was sealed and they started talking about playing their music together," Dartford council leader Jeremy Kite said. Richards was on his way to Sidcup Art College, and Jagger was traveling to the London School of Economics. "They went off and recruited Brian Jones next, and the rest is history," Kite told the BBC. The Rolling Stones then formed in 1962.
