Scott Stapp, the troubled lead singer of the rock band Creed, continued his downward spiral this week, losing custody of his kids and coming under investigation for threatening President Obama.
This week's trouble began when his sister-in-law and soon-to-be ex-wife, Jaclyn Stapp, called 911 to report Stapp allegedly threatened to assassinated Obama.
The women told the 911 operator the rocker had printed out hundreds of CIA documents, put them in a book bag and took off on his bike.
Police officers in Florida located Stapp and spoke to him. They ultimately determined he didn't show enough signs of mental instability to arrest him or put him in a psych hold.
Last month, Stapp blamed his financial struggles on Obama. He posted a video to his Facebook account saying he was penniless and living in a hotel.
He later told Roz Weston and Mocha Frap, of The Roz and Mocha Show on Toronto's KiSS 92.5, that Obama was behind the attack that left him broke and homeless.
"In 2012, I was doing a promotional tour for my book, Sinner's Creed," Stapp said. "I went on Fox News, I expressed a little concern and disappointment with President Obama. Well, within two months of that statement, the IRS began to freeze my accounts."
"I believe that the IRS situation is definitely a result of me expressing my dissatisfaction with President Obama," he continued. "Absolutely, 100 percent. When my assets were frozen, I wasn't able to pay my mortgage."
A representative from the Secret Service told People the group is looking into Stapp's alleged assassination threat.
"We are aware and we'll take appropriate action," spokeswoman Nicole Mainor said.
Meanwhile, a Florida judge granted full custody of Scott and Jaclyn's three children to Jaclyn.
The ruling doesn't indicate whether Stapp even gets any visitation rights with the children.
