Tim McGraw has resolved his fan-slapping incident.
The 47-year-old country star and fan Jesslyn Taylor settled the matter out of court. McGraw was in concert July 13 in Atlanta when Taylor reached up from the audience and grabbed his jeans. A rep said the singer "instinctively swatted" to keep her from ripping the pants, but a video of the incident had many saying he "slapped" or "smacked" her in the face.
Taylor threatened to sue and demanded a public apology after the altercation.
"The matter between Tim McGraw and Jesslyn Taylor stemming from an Atlanta concert has been mutually resolved the old-fashioned way -- with a simple conversation," a rep for McGraw told Country Weekly.
McGraw spoke to ET Canada shortly after the incident in question, and called the altercation "an unfortunate situation."
"I reacted in an instinctive, defensive way from my perspective of what was going on," he said. "But it happened, it happened in a split second, it was pure instinctive reaction, I think you just got to move on. It is one of those things that happen, nobody feels good about it, but there's nothing that could be done about it."
McGraw's thirteenth studio album, Sundown Heaven Town, will be released September 16.
