Islamabad - KUNA

A militant attack killed five security men and wounded six others in Mattani area of northern Pakistan on Thursday. According to security officials, the convoy of security forces was attacked by the militants with rockets and opened fire killing five security men and injured six others in Sara Khawara area in Mattani of Khyber Pakhtunkhwah province of northern Pakistan. The militants also attacked a police van injuring four officials in the same area near the site of the first attack. The militants opened fire on the police van with a hand grenade and opened fire on it injuring four policemen, said media reports. Security forces including police and paramilitary force cordoned off the area immediately and carried a search operation. The injured were shifted to the nearby Lady Reading Hospital. The road was completely blocked for traffic as the security forces cordoned off the area and fear spreads in citizens due to violence.
