At least 10 people were killed and 32 wounded in three car bomb explosions in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, a police source said. Two car bombs went off at Jesr Diyala district in the southeastern part of Baghdad shortly before the sunset, killing ten people and wounding 24 others, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. Another car bomb detonated in the nearby district of Zaafaraniyah and wounded eight people, the source said. Earlier in the day, the police said the Baghdad was the scene of three bomb explosions, including one outside the foreign ministry, leaving a total of 25 killed and 37 wounded. Iraq is witnessing its worst violence in recent years. According to the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq, a total of 8,868 Iraqis, including 7,818 civilians and civilian police personnel, were killed in 2013, the highest annual death toll in years.
