Emirati singer Ahlam Al-Shamsi, a judge on “Arab Idol,” broke a rule or two of the popular reality TV show this weekend when she brought back Palestinian contestant Nadine Al-Khatib to the competition.
The move surprised everyone as Al-Khatib had earlier been dismissed from the competition by co-judge Nancy Ajram after the emerging singer was given one last chance.
The rules of the famous musical show on MBC1 clearly state that only one participant can be chosen for the live performances, despite which, Ahlam demanded the return of Al-Khatib.
After a meeting between the judges during the break, Ahlam managed to convince everyone about giving one more chance to Al-Khatib, believing in her voice and her right to show her talent on stage.
Ahlam selected Muhannad Abdul-Hussein, who she said will be a star one day, and Camellia Word in the third round of the reality singing show.
Ahlam chose Camellia after the judges felt Camellia’s constant stress on stage was proving to be a hindrance to her otherwise outstanding voice. Ahlam said Camellia has lots of self-confidence that is making her lose focus during her performance.
Meanwhile, Kausar Al-Barrani made a signifiant position in the third round of live performances on ‘Arab Idol’, which started on Friday evening.
Kausar shined in an elegant Moroccan dress performing a song by Latifa Raafat.
Kausar sang a song by Zekra, “Ma finy Shi,” last week, bringing back the memory of the late Moroccan star to the audience.
The participant joined the “Arab Idol” show in its fourth edition with her special musical expertise and a beautiful voice.
