The ceasefire has been observed in most provinces of Syria. Within the last 24 hours, 8 ceasefire violations have been registered, including six in Damascus and two in Latakia provinces, the center said at its daily bulletin posted on the Russian Defense Ministry website.

In Latakia province, militants fired mortars and portable AT grenade launchers against Rasha and Saraf inhabited areas.

Nine agreements were clinched over the past 24 hours with representatives of nine towns to join the ceasefire, bringing to 578 the total number of towns that agreed to hold fire.

Negotiations are still going on with field commanders of armed opposition groups active in Damascus, Homs, Aleppo, Al Quneitra provinces to join the ceasefire.

The number of armed groups that declared their commitment to the ceasefire terms remains 69, the bulletin said.

A ceasefire was brokered by Russia and the United States in Syria on February 27 but it did not include Daesh, Jabhat al Nusra and other groups recognized as terrorist by the United Nations Security Council.
