More than 162,000 Syrians were killed since the start of the crisis in March 2011, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Monday. The Observatory said in a statement that the number of casualties were 81,000 civilians and 13,000 from various opposition battalions, adding that regime forces casualties were 37,658 regime forces were injured. The organization noted that these statistics do not include 18,000 persons inside the Syrian regime jails, in addition to thousands of people who were unaccounted for due to incursion of regime forces of many Syrian areas. The number of casualties also does not include 8,000 prisoners from regime forces and armed men and hundreds of kidnapped fighters from Islamic battalions, mainly from the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and Islamic Front. The observatory called on international organizations seriously work and end the bloodshed in Syria.
