More than 50 people were killed in scattered areas in Syria when government forces carried out heavy shelling using various types of arms on Yabroud city in the mountainous Qalamoun region along the Lebanese border. Violent confrontations took place between opposition forces and forces of the Syrian regime, the Syrian Revolution General Commission (SRGC) announced on Monday.Around 59 people were killed late Sunday by government forces shelling using explosive barrels and heavy artillery, the SRGC noted, adding that 27 people were killed in Aleppo, 12 in Damascus and its outskirts, 11 in Homs and Idleb, five in Daraa, one in Hama, and one in Deir Al-Zour.
