Syrian warplanes kill 15 ISIL militants in Raqqa
TEHRAN (FNA)- Syrian jet fighters targeted the hideouts of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group in Raqqa province, killing at least 15 members of the Takfiri group.
"At least 15 ISIL terrorists were killed when missiles hit the Tal Abyad neighborhood," the Syrian Local Coordination Committees said, Aljazeera reported.
"Army warplanes carried out eight air strikes targeting Raqqa and its surroundings," it added.
The strikes come amid a stepped-up military campaign by President Bashar al-Assad's government targeting ISIL positions in Northern and Eastern Syria.
