The Tunisian film festival in Hollywood opened yesterday, 10 January, to celebrate to the anniversary of the revolution, which led to the ousting of president Zein El-Abedein Ben Ali. The three-day-event takes place at the Barnsdall Gallery Theater on Hollywood Boulevard, featuring eight short and feature films as well as documentaries made during the revolution. Music performances and seminars will also be held. The event is organised by Free Tunisia, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting Tunisia's democratic aspirations. According to the Los Angeles Times, organisers said some of the films being shown would have been censored under the regime of former President Zein El-Abedein Ben Ali, who fled the country on 14 January, 2011.
