Cairo - Mahmoud Al Rifai
Lebanese singer Carole Samaha is more than satisfied with the feedback she’s received for two songs she wrote for her new album. The tracks were the star’s first attempt at songwriting and garnered rave reviews following the release of her album, Ehsas, two weeks ago. Talking to Arabstoday, Samaha gushed: “I didn’t expect my first songwriting experience to be so successful. I didn’t plan to write lyrics for any of the songs, it just happened by accident.” “The idea came from the composer, Mohamed Yehia. When we were discussing a concept for of the singles, her suggested I write it. He said, ‘use your feelings and I will help you’. I did as he said, gave it to him then he wrote the accompanying music,” she added. The musician appears to have found a new talent, saying: “Maybe I’ll do it again, especially after all the good feedback I’ve received.” Catole Samaha’s new album is out now. Her latest offering has already achieved high sales in Arab countries and reached the number one spot in music charts in Egypt, Lebanon and UAE.
