Rock singer-songwriter Lenny Kravitz will join pop superstar Katy Perry to perform at halftime of Super Bowl 49 on February 1, Perry revealed
Kravitz, 50, captured four straight Grammy Awards from 1999 to 2002 for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance.
He recently announced the second leg of his world tour for his latest studio release of "Strut," which Rolling Stone Magazine named one of the top albums of 2014.
Perry was announced in November as the halftime headliner for the NFL championship extravaganza to be held in suburban Phoenix, Arizona.
She confirmed Kravitz would be joining her in a television interview that aired during Saturday's NFL playoff game between New England and Baltimore.
The most recent Super Bowl halftime show featured Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers and drew a record 111.5 million US TV viewers last February.
Perry, 30, is known for her flamboyant costumes and such hits as "Firework," "California Gurls," "Dark Horse" and "Part of Me."
Past Super Bowl halftime performers include Beyonce, Madonna, The Who, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Sting and the late Michael Jackson.
