Syrian actor Nidal Sejari passed away on Thursday, aged 48, after a long battle with laryngeal (throat) cancer. Sejari, branded the \'Arab Charlie Chaplin\' starred in several top Syrian television comedy shows and theatre productions. He also worked as a director with his Syrian counterpart Laith Hijo, most notably on a film about Palestinian and Syrian Refugees. Sejari was born in the Syrian city of Lattakia in May 1965. He graduated from the High Institution of Arts in Damascus. He leaves behind a widow and two sons.
