Egyptian actress Rania Youssef has told Arabstoday that she is spending 14-hour days filming for her new drama, Heat Wave. The show, which will be aired during Ramadan, sees Youssef play the character of Shahenda, the wife of police officer Sayed al-Agati, portrayed on screen by her co-star Eyad Nassar. The television drama also stars Jehan Fadel, Khaled Selim, Medhat Saleh, Dina Sherbini, Hana Shiha, Hala Fakher, Maali Zayed, and Sayed Ragab. The series is based on a novel by prolific Egyptian writer Osama Anwar Okasha titled Munkhafad al-Hind al-Mawsemi, and it is directed by Mohamed Yassin. Rania Youssef is also working on Friendly Fire, a television drama about the bond between six friends and their well-kept university secret which later threatens their future and standing in society. Friendly Fire stars Mena Shalaby, Kenda Alloush, Amr Youssef, Mohammed Shaheen, and Zafar Abdeen. The series has been written by Mohamed Amin Radi, and is directed by Khaled Marei.
