Egyptian scriptwriter Tamer Habib has described comedian Samir Ghaneb as "committed", explaining during his conversation with Arabstoday: “When I started writing the screenplay for 'Sharbat al-Louz' (Almond Sherbet) I saw the character of Samir Ghanem between the lines, and when he agreed to participate in the work I had a talk with him about his lines. However, he looked at me with surprise saying that theatre was different from television and cinema, and though he was the master of improvisation on stage he sticks to the script when it comes to cinema." Habib continued: “I felt reassured for the existence of a committed artist like the great artist Samir Ghanem.” He added: “The series is about a man who loves chasing women but eventually falls in love with one, whose role is performed by the actress Yousra. He eventually marries her, so his life changes as a result of this love.”
