Famed UAE singer Ahlam Alshamsi wore a dress worth a jaw-dropping £150,000 during her visit to Morocco’s Mawazine Festival on Friday. The gown is reportedly worth more than the fee the star was paid for appearing at the music event. The musician was subjected to barrage of embarrassing questions aimed at her expensive taste. The dress’s hefty price tag drew criticism from the press who felt Ahlam’s attire was in bad taste considering the current conflicts in the Arab region – which have left many countries short of food. The starlet was forced to defend her fashion faux-pas by telling journalists of her charity work. Ahlam is set to perform at the annual music festival. The starlet is expected to pay tribute to the Moroccan people by singing Red Flag, one of the country’s traditional songs. During her stay, Ahlam and her husband, Mubarak Al-Hajri, were spotted dining out on some Moroccan food with a group of journalists.
