Two people were killed and seven wounded on Friday when a suicide bomber attacked a mosque in eastern Saudi Arabia, the interior ministry said.

"As a result of the suicide bomber, two people were martyred and seven wounded," it said in a statement.

Residents said the mosque belonged to the minority Shiite community.
