5 Yemen soldiers dead in ex-Qaeda stronghold twin bombing: army

Two suicide car bombs at Yemeni army checkpoints killed five soldiers on Monday in the southeastern city of Mukalla, a former stronghold of Al-Qaeda, an officer told AFP.

One bomber drove his vehicle into a checkpoint in western Mukalla as the second struck in the centre of the city, General Faraj Salemine said, blaming the attack on "terrorists".
