Anti-migrant protest

Thousands of people joined a protest against migrants in Warsaw on Saturday, as authorities opposed fixed refugee quotas proposed by the EU amid the worst migrant crisis in Europe in decades.

Many of the nearly 5,000 opponents chanted anti-Islamic slogans, an AFP journalist saw. A counter-demonstration drew around 1,000 people welcoming migrants into Poland, an EU member of 38 million people which has seen virtually no refugees arriving during the current crisis.
