At least one civilian was killed during a protest against the presence of UN and French troops in the Malian city of Kidal on Monday, multiple sources told AFP.

"At least one civilian was killed Monday during a protest against foreign forces," a source within the UN mission in Mali said, while a separate UN statement confirmed damage to the northern city's airport.
