A Bangladeshi court sentenced five Islamist extremists to death on Tuesday for murdering a Japanese farmer in a drive-by shooting in 2015, one of a string of attacks in recent years targeting foreigners.
The order for the five members of the Jamayetul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to hang was handed down by a judge in the northern city of Rangpur after he found the five defendants guilty of murdering Hoshi Kunio in October 2015.
