Bolivia's Deputy Interior Minister Rodolfo Illanes has been killed by miners who kidnapped him to demand labor law changes, the government said Thursday.

"All signs indicate that our deputy minister Rodolfo Illanes has been cowardly and brutally murdered," Interior Minister Carlos Romero told a press conference. Illanes was killed at the site of a blockade in the western highland town of Panduro.
