Brazil's chief prosecutor asked the Supreme Court on Thursday for a green light to charge the speaker of the country's lower house with receiving at least $5 million in bribes.

Prosecutor General Rodrigo Janot alleges that Eduardo Cunha, president of the Chamber of Deputies, received payoffs relating to contracts to build two survey vessels for state oil giant Petrobras.
