A state criminal case charging Brazil's ex-president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva with money laundering was transferred Monday to the country's top federal anti-corruption judge.

The Sao Paulo state court system, which has also recommended Lula's preventative detention, asked Judge Sergio Moro, who is heading the probe into Brazil's biggest ever corruption scandal, to take over the case.
