Burkina Faso's government on Monday accused failed putschists of seizing soldiers sent to disarm them following a west African brokered peace deal.
"The disarmament process began on Saturday ... and was brutally compromised yesterday," a statement said, accusing coup leader General Gilbert Diendere of taking hostage both former putschists "wanting to join the camp of reason but also government soldiers sent to disarm them."
