Raging wildfires in the western US coastal state of California have claimed at least three lives, authorities said Monday.

"Sadly two fatalities have been confirmed on the #AtlasFire in Napa County," Cal Fire, the regional fire authority tweeted, referring to one of 14 major blazes currently burning. 

One death had previously been reported in Mendocino County.
