Dutch anti-Islam MP Geert Wilders will appeal his conviction for discriminating against Moroccans as he believes the verdict is a "big loss for freedom of speech", his lawyer said Friday.

"Mr Wilders has indicated to us that he will appeal the conviction," lawyer Geert-Jan Knoops said in a statement.
