A pro-democracy rally in Istanbul began on Sunday attended by hundreds of thousands of people, bringing to an end weeks of demonstrations in support of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan after last month's failed coup.
Attended by Erdogan, Prime Minister Binali Yildrim and opposition party leaders, the grand "Democracy and Martyrs" rally for unity started with the national anthem in Yenikapi square and followed by Koran readings to the crowd.
