German flagship carrier Lufthansa said it is scrapping 830 flights Friday, grounding more than 100,000 passengers, as a strike by pilots over wages extends to a third day. The walkout has affected more than 315,000 passengers, with the airline forced to cancel 2,618 flights over three days. A Lufthansa executive said it was "not possible" to meet the pilots' demand for a bigger wage hike as "we already pay our pilots far better than our competitors". |
