Mali's security minister on Monday raised the death toll from an attack on a tourist resort blamed on jihadists, saying four civilians and a Malian soldier were killed in the incident near the capital.

"A Malian solider was killed and four civilians: one Franco-Malian, one Franco-Gabonese, one Chinese and one Portuguese," said minister Salif Traore.
