Mexican authorities on Wednesday deported a US woman who helped her fugitive teenager flee to Mexico in violation of his probation in a deadly drunk-driving case.

"She's gone. She was headed to Los Angeles," an official at the National Migration Institute told AFP, adding that, while Tonya Couch was deported, her son stayed in Mexico pending an appeal.
